What is a Design Studio painting event like?
Our number one goal at a Design Studio painting event is to make sure that you have a fun time! It is a fun, social, group setting where you will be led by Stacy in replicating that night's chosen painting. Don't feel like it has to be a copy though. You can put whatever personal spin on it that you would like. By the end of the evening, you will leave with a painting that you can be proud of and a smile on your face.
Do I need to register in advance?
Yes! We have limited seating and our painting parties often sell out. You can register online through eventbrite or you can communicate with Stacy through phone, e-mail, or facebook to reserve seats.
What is your Cancellation Policy?
Design Studio is an entertainment event much like a concert, dinner theater or movie theater. We do allow cancellations or reschedules unlike the above but we do require a 48 hour notice. Cancellations should be made via email or by phone as soon as possible. This provides us the opportunity to fill the space. We will provide a full refund or reschedule you with 48 hours notice. We will charge the event fee for reservations not cancelled 48 hours in advance. Public classes are subject to cancellation without a minimum of 10 attendees or due to weather. Cancellations are very rare and customers will be notified via phone and/or email of cancelled classes .
How much do your painting parties cost?
Prices vary between $35-$50 depending on the painting, venue, and if it is a fundraising event.
What is included in the price?
Stacy will be there to guide you through the painting and will provide the canvas, paints, brushes, and apron. Food and alcohol is not provided except for special events. You will find this in the specific event information.
When should I arrive at a party?
We recommend arriving 15-30 minutes before the painting party is to begin. This will give you time to select a seat and settle in, get yourself a glass of wine or other beverage and sign up for a door prize.
What should I wear?
Dress is casual. We will be using acrylic paints which do not come out of clothing very easily or at all. We do provide aprons but accidents can happen. Avoid wearing anything that you would be really upset about getting paint on. I would also recommend you to avoid wearing anything that is too loose fitting or can hang down into the paint such as long loose scarves or necklaces.
How many people do I need for a private event?
Please contact Stacy for information regarding private events. Generally, our requirements for a Design Studio Private Event is 10 guests. If you have fewer guests you are charged for the minimum that is required and we can distribute the extra cost among guests or however you would like. Private events can be held in a location of your choosing. We have hosted paint parties in restaurants, houses, garages, and outdoors. We can provide tables and chairs if needed (up to 28 people). Please contact Stacy for exact requirements and pricing.
What are the benefits of hosting my own event?
When you host an event of your own, you get to choose the day, time, location and (best of all) the painting! Plus, we like to thank our hosts for putting an event together. Host a party with 15 or more guests and you are FREE! Host an event with 10 or more and paint for half price. Just my little way of saying thank you.
How far will you travel for a Private Event?
Design Studio by Stacy serves Central Minnesota and is willing to travel. Travel will depend on many factors so just call or e-mail Stacy with your interest and we will try our best to work something out.
How do you choose your paintings?
Painting inspiration comes from many different places. I try to create a good variety of artworks that everyone will enjoy. For private parties you get to choose your own painting. Whether you choose from a painting we have done in the past or I custom design something for you. I am totally open to suggestions and recommendations as well!
Is there an age limit for your public painting parties?
Because kids are so different we do not have an exact age limit. Kids will need to be mature enough to be in a room with adults and use the paint and materials properly. Parents know their own kids better than we do so we will leave that judgement up to you. We would recommend 10 and up for a standard party. Also watch for events for parents and kids or host our own children's party.
